BACKSTORY

Gerry’s background in studio engineering and production, combined with his extensive experience as a working musician, has placed him in a unique position to hit the high note as an MD.

His clients have included the icons David Bowie, Suzanne Vega, Rufus Wainwright, among others, on live performances, touring, TV and broadcast appearances, and orchestral work.

As Gerry explained, “Many factors contribute to a successful show or tour. It normally starts with the artist and their vision. Once this is made clear to me then the work begins – everything from choosing the right musicians, carefully chosen for their skill set and musical personalities to selecting the material, arrangements and rehearsing, technical problem solving, and working with the sound crew to meet deadlines for specific brief. A successful show, in my book, is a manifestation of the artists vision in a harmonious environment.”

Gerry was MD for David Bowies world wide “Reality” tour [2003/2004] working closely with David and the band to include a 64 song repertoire.

Gerry has also been MD for two Rufus Wainwright tours; “Release the Stars” tour [2007/2008] and the “Poses” anniversary tour [2018/2019].
He has been MD with Suzanne Vega since 2008 and continues to work with Suzanne on all her current projects.
